ESAD came to a point where there were only three active Branches (BCAD, SWAD and UCAD) in New York State. ESAD became concerned that the organization is struggling on being able to reach out to many parts of New York State. The Board of Directors decided to improve ESAD’s relationships with more organizations, business, schools and individuals in different parts of the state. They decided to establish a new plan that will reach out to more members throughout New York State by creating seven different regions in the state that will have a representative for each region. The regions that already had a branch representative such as BCAD, SWAD and UCAD were grandfathered in the plan. All the representatives are expected to recruit new members and affiliated organizations in their region. The concept was brought up and approved in the general meeting at the 67th Biennial Conference in 2009.
The ESAD President has already appointed a Regional Representative for most of the newly established regions of the state. The Board of Directors are looking forward to working with these new representatives and has confidence that this will begin a new future for ESAD with stronger relationships with various businesses, organizations, schools, and individuals in New York State.
